RAWZ is founded by the Scott family and, although difficult to talk about, they realize the importance and value behind sharing their personal inspiration and journey behind RAWZ.
Jim and Janet Scott have three children and, in 2005, their youngest son, Andrew, suffered a spinal cord injury from a fall. Less than a year later, their middle son, Jimmy, was in a horrific car crash and sustained a traumatic brain injury.
During these difficult times, their beautiful yellow lab, Boomer, was instrumental in their healing. Jimmy shares, “I know from my own experience, they’re not always great times in the early recovery. Boomer was my reason to get out of bed”.
Through their time of need, the spiritual bonding with their four-legged friend was clear. It was evident that the healing powers flowing from this animal to their human hearts and bodies was having an enormously positive impact. The Scott family knows that these beautiful beings make a huge difference in everyone’s lives.
As a family, they knew that giving back wasn’t just a want - it was a feeling of something they were pulled to have to do and they feel blessed to be able to help others. The motivation of RAWZ is so fundamental in everything they do.

In order for a food to be classified as, “all life stages”, it must pass a certain protocol used by the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AFFCO) to determine if a food has the nutrient content necessary to fully support the four stages of life; the gestation, lactation, growth and maintenance stages. Food with this classification may be used for a pet in any of these life stages so long as the correct amount is fed. RAWZ are pleased to say that its food meets these guidelines.
