Green Initiatives

We work hard to make sure that our impact on the environment is kept to a minimum as we go through our daily processes.

We always recycle our paper, shrink-wrap, plastics, food/beverage containers, glass, and cardboard. We use 100% recycled paper, and packing boxes are re-used. Our warehouse equipment is electrical instead of gas-powered, light fixtures are low-energy, lunchroom appliances are energy-efficient, and all furnaces are monitored by electronic thermostats. We consistently return any toner or ink cartridges to the manufacturer for recycling, and we promote the use of email instead of generating unnecessary paperwork. Our email signatures encourage others to avoid printing emails whenever possible.

Maddies’ deliveries are routed to maximize efficiency in order to reduce fuel consumption.

Maddies has chosen to represent brands that are all-natural, and in keeping with this philosophy a number of brands that we advocate are also environmentally conscious. BioBags, Pretrenz dog waste bags, and Earthbath shampoo, soap, and spritz are chemical-free and biodegradable. Feline Fresh litter is environmentally friendly, made with all natural pine, and Swheat Scoop litter is biodegradable as well as being a flushable, compostable, renewable resource.
