Departments at Maddies and the Qualities We Look For:

Inside Sales: the ideal applicant will have an amazing rapport with people and excellent customer service skills. They will possess an appropriate telephone manner, effective data entry skills, strong problem solving ability, and a good sense of humor. A background in sales at any level would be a beneficial asset.

Outside Sales: the ideal applicant should have an effortless rapport with a wide variety of people and a strong background in outside sales. They will have discovered an appropriate balance between a firm and a generous nature for their line of work, have great attention to detail, as well as strong problem solving ability, and they should have a willingness to do some out-of-town travel. A valid drivers' license and a vehicle is expected.

Accounting: the ideal applicant will have exceptional math skills, keen attention to detail, good rapport with people with a particular sensitivity during any communication regarding finances, outstanding organizational skills, and an excellent ability to meet deadlines.

Purchasing: the ideal applicant should have a good rapport with people, outstanding math and organizational skills, and a keen attention to detail. Some experience in a purchasing-related position would be expected (including knowledge of forecasting models and Excel).

Transportation: the ideal applicant will possess exceptional customer service skills, basic knowledge of geographical areas in British Columbia or Alberta, a valid class 1 or 3 driver's license, a clean driver's abstract, and a minimum of two years professional driving experience.

Administration: the ideal applicant will have basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. An excellent rapport with people is expected, as well as a good telephone manner, typing ability, and a strong command of the English language (both written and spoken).

Warehousing/Logistics: the ideal applicant will possess good spatial and organizational abilities, a keen attention to detail, basic math, and a good grasp of the English language. Experience with forklifts, handheld scanners and general warehouse equipment would be a definite asset.
